Proof the Bible is True?

Is there something beyond simply "believing" the Bible to be true?

Is there any tangible proof that it is the Word of God?

If you aren't sure of the Bibles authenticity, let me share a few facts with you.

1. The Bible is the best-selling book in the world.
That in itself doesn't prove anything, but aren't you curious about what is in a book that sells about 150 million copies a year? I'd call that the all time best seller and I'd sure be curious if I had never read it.

2. The Bible claims to be written by God.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God...
2 Peter 1:21 Prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

So what if the Bible claims to be written by God? That doesn't mean anything on it's own either. I could write you a note today and sign it "love, God" and that wouldn't make it a real note from God. But don't you think it's interesting that the Bible claims to be the Words of God more than 3600 times?

Ok, a couple of facts that don't prove anything. Give me something tangible, you say?

3. Historical evidence supports the Bible.
No one has yet been able to find a single historical mistake anywhere in the Bible. Everyone makes mistakes! After all these years and so many scholars looking for errors, doesn't it seem odd that no one has found any?

4. Archaeological evidence supports the Bible.
To date, archaeologists have not discovered a single thing in the Middle East that has proved the Bible wrong. In fact there have been 25,000 archaeological finds relating to people, places and events in the Bible and not one has contradicted anything in the Bible.

I will have some references below if you would like to look into these facts in more detail. But I'd like to ask you now, assuming you believe the historical and archaeological evidence I have pointed to is true, If you can believe historical and archaeological evidence of the Bible, why don't you think you can believe the spiritual part of the book?

5. Fulfilled prophecies validate the Bible.
What is the only book in the world to contain hundreds of very detailed prophecies? The correct answer is the Bible.

So if the text of a book contains prophecies that do not come true, what does that say about the book? That it is false, of course.

When the Bible was written, 25% of the content was predicting future events. And every single one of those prophecies has come true to the minutest detail, except for the few remaining prophecies about the return of Jesus Christ to earth. Statistically there is no way a man can predict the future 100% of the time. So who is the only one who can do this?

The Bible is not just a single book, but a compilation of 66 books written by some 40 authors over 1500 years. It's internal consistency and fulfilled prophecies prove it's divine origin.
